The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient placement, processing, tracking and receipt of purchase orders, while supporting inventory management, quality control and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable coordinating with suppliers, internal departments, project team members and management. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, persistence and the ability to develop effective vendor relationships while resolving issues in a timely manner. Responsibilities
  • Prepare purchase orders for approval and place and monitor purchase orders with assigned vendors as directed.
  • Review and analyze inventory data and make recommendations regarding reorder points (ROPs).
  • Review vendor confirmations and invoices for accuracy in pricing, quantities and other purchasing terms.
  • Process approved invoices through the Accounting Department.
  • Obtain, maintain and communicate assigned supplier pricing profiles and pricing changes to management.
  • Process vendor releases and assign forwarders and HTS classifications as required.
  • Enter and maintain accurate ETA information for items on order and communicate changes to Customer Service.
  • Coordinate LCL and FCL shipments with suppliers in preparation for handoff to the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Verify and receipt inventory upon shipment arrival.
  • Investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies involving rejected or nonconforming materials (DRs).
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends as requested.
  • Assist with sourcing activities and process special-order requests for quotation (RFQs).
  • Maintain and execute assigned vendor backorders.
  • Manage vendor relationships, communicate requirements, monitor compliance and address performance issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve purchasing, inventory and supplier-related issues. Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of domestic and international purchasing experience required.
  • Experience in the stone, ceramic and/or porcelain industry strongly preferred .
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and document accuracy.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Windows-based applications and strong working knowledge of Outlook.
  • Experience with business management/ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred .
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical sketches or drawings is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and importation processes strongly preferred.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds .
Work Location This position is onsite at our Secaucus, New Jersey location and is not eligible for remote work . Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates should be within reasonable commuting distance or have independent plans to relocate to the area prior to employment.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
