Overview:
The Buyer role is an entry-level position within the Purchasing Department focused on tracking, analyzing, forecasting and replenishing inventory levels in an efficient, precise, and timely manner. As a Buyer, the primary responsibilities and functions are as follows:
  • Analysis, tracking, and maintenance of inventory levels and item files
  • Proactive and calculated replenishment of inventory to meet the needs of the sales force
  • Determine proper inventory levels through the analysis of replenishment reports, generate purchase orders, and ensure that product is received in a timely manner
  • Communicate with the Category Manager to ensure inventory levels are balanced based on customer needs, menu variations, and seasonal changes
  • Evaluate daily inventory reports focused on, replenishment, accuracy and product expiration
  • Work with category managers and purchasing management in an effort to maximize the profitability of each item, brand, and vendor
  • Update item and vendor maintenance files as necessary
  • Provide back up for other members of the department
