Role and Responsibilities We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods needed to support production schedules. This role requires strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build effective supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase raw materials, components, and production supplies. Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers. Create, track, and manage purchase orders. Mange the receiving in of the purchased goods. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent production delays. Work closely with production, engineering, warehouse, and accounting teams. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery. Resolve issues related to shipments, shortages, or defective materials. Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor files. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost savings opportunities. Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards. Additional assignments as needed. Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to analyze data and make sound purchasing decisions. Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.
Preferred:
• Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Epicor preferred Experience purchasing metals, medias, hardware, or industrial equipment.
