Job Title:
Purchasing Coordinator Job Description The Purchasing Coordinator supports the purchasing department by accurately managing high volumes of data, releasing materials and purchase orders to buyers, and maintaining clear, organized records. This role suits someone who is highly detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with significant growth opportunities. Responsibilities Accurately perform high-volume data entry to input and manage purchasing and inventory information with strong attention to detail. Use Excel to manage, analyze, and report data, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track inventory, orders, and other key purchasing metrics. Efficiently release materials and purchase orders (POs) to buyers, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation and records of all purchasing transactions and related communications. Ensure all documentation is easily accessible and understandable for team members and other departments. Collaborate closely with colleagues and other departments to support a seamless purchasing workflow and effective communication. Provide administrative support to the purchasing function, including order entry and general clerical tasks as needed. Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies related to data entry, purchase orders, or inventory records. Proactively address challenges in purchasing processes to maintain smooth and efficient operations. Contribute to excellent internal and external customer service by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries related to orders and inventory. Essential Skills Proven experience in high-volume data entry. Strong proficiency in Excel for data management, analysis, and reporting. Experience in a purchasing, order entry, or administrative support role is highly desirable. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Solid communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in plumbing and heating is a plus. Background in inventory management or order processing is beneficial. Customer service experience related to orders or purchasing is advantageous. Demonstrated determination and resilience in handling high-volume tasks. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role with typical hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You will work primarily with computer-based systems, including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, to manage purchasing data, orders, and inventory records. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
