Job Overview As the primary contact for your assigned suppliers, you will be responsible for executing the day-to-day buying activities and onboarding new products in coordination with Sourcing, Inventory Planning, Regional Purchasing Managers, and Customer Service. Duties and Responsibilities Process purchase orders to replenish stock in a timely and accurate manner to ensure a high fill rate for our customers. Monitor, communicate, and follow up as necessary on late orders from your suppliers. Timely communication to sales and customer service for any back orders or late deliveries affecting our customers. Investigate and resolve invoice and receiving issues in a timely manner. Arrange freight for both domestic and global product shipments. Work closely with suppliers and Quality Department to resolve quality issues quickly. Process return to vendor claims as necessary. Ensure accuracy of item information including costs, lead times, and reorder points. Build relationships and increase product knowledge through supplier visits, plant tours, and attending industry events. Develop and implement cost savings activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or University in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related course of study. 1 - 4 years of experience in a buyer/supply chain role; distribution environment experience preferred. Experience onboarding new products and introducing the products to sales and customer service is preferred. Experience with Oracle is a plus. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Work well with a diverse group of people at all levels of organizations including Customer Service and Suppliers. Ability to manage multiple priorities and different workflow processes. Travel domestically occasionally to visit suppliers, provide support to warehouses, and participate in inventory counts.
