Full Job Description Description:
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, components, and supplies required for production of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electromechanical subassemblies. This is a full-time, on-site position working closely with the production scheduling and operations teams to ensure on-time material availability and supplier responsiveness.
Requirements:
Request and evaluate quotations from approved suppliers for wire, cable, connectors, hardware, and other production materials Issue and track purchase orders from creation through receipt; follow up on open orders and delivery commitments Assign and maintain MAC item numbers for new raw materials; set up new items and suppliers in the ERP system Coordinate with customer service to align purchasing activity with the production schedule Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times, delivery, and quality issues in a professional and timely manner Maintain accurate purchasing records, open order reports, and material cost data Support the Controller and operations team with cost tracking and variance reporting Assist with supplier evaluation and onboarding in coordination with Quality Maintain working knowledge of company quality standards (AS9100D, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3) as they relate to purchasing Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) — must be comfortable working in spreadsheets daily Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping Solid written and verbal communication skills; ability to correspond professionally with suppliers Ability to manage multiple open tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Self-starter who follows tasks through to completion without extensive supervision Must meet the definition of "US Person" under
ITAR/EAR
regulations Preferred (not required): Prior purchasing, procurement, or materials coordination experience in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems Knowledge of wire, cable, connectors, or electronic components Experience in an aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environment
