SUMMARY:
This individual is primarily responsible for the timely review, entry and processing of tax payments/billings. This individual must be able to maintain a cooperative, congenial and service-oriented atmosphere within an environment with frequent interruptions. This individual will also assist the Purchasing Specialist with the fulfillment of Purchasing procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration of Occupation and Real Estate Taxes, which includes maintaining tax database. Answers inquiries regarding tax matters and support tax collectors. Compile monthly adjustment reports and board reports. Issue refunds for qualified residents due to non-residency status, unemployment, etc. Reconcile the delinquent year and prepare a report for our delinquent collector. Set up New Year databases for tax collections. Responds to tax payer inquiries via postal, telephonic and e-mail communications. Send approved PO's to vendors and file in District recordkeeping systems Obtain order confirmations from vendors Correspond with vendors about orders and document correspondence as required Maintain District's commodity code database for bidding Manage online ordering processes for high volume District vendors (e.g., Office Depot, Amazon) Manage vendor registration database and register new vendors Assist in maintaining the District's annual bid calendar, internet and intranet sites Enter quantities for pricing on District bids Assist District staff in identifying vendors, soliciting prices and utilizing purchasing cooperatives Maintain District memberships in cooperative purchasing entities Proactively seek additional projects to assist the Purchasing Department Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other software products Demonstrate ability to perform multiple tasks and appropriately prioritize work Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Work experience that demonstrates the aptitude and ability to perform the essential functions of this position required. Prior experience with Pennsylvania school district accounting preferred. MATHEMATICAL and
TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS
Must be able to efficiently and accurately calculate quantities and currencies such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages and averages. Must be able to apply concepts of mathematics in practical office applications. Must be able to use a calculator and computer programs to assist in data processing and preparation of reports. Must be very proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, and demonstrate mastery of more complex formulas within Excel. Must be proficient in the use of financial software used to process a high volume of transactions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to process a high volume of information in an efficient manner to meet strict School Board reporting deadlines. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to professionally correspond with colleagues and vendors, including those that may be irate. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, tax payers and the community. Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment with specific deadlines.
REQUIRED PAPERWORK
In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork. Background employment clearances must be completed within the last year to be valid and include: PA State Police Clearance (Act 34) Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) IndentoGo Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician's health form and recently completed TB test.
