Job Description

QorTek Inc. (State College, PA) is a leading developer of power electronic systems, world-class piezoceramic materials, and piezoelectric device technology solutions. The Company is actively engaged in various stages of technology development from concept feasibility to advanced engineering and manufacturing of products for the US DoD. QorTek is a small business with a lively culture focused on technology advancement, career development and a flexible work-life balance. We are looking to add an experienced Buyer to our team to help ensure our supply chain and logistics operations function properly. In this role, you will collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Engineering, and Finance, to satisfy the material needs of the facility, therefore teamwork skills are important. You will need exemplary communication skills to coordinate across the facility to not only buy materials but anticipate needs. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and procure materials, components, and services to support program and operational needs. Ensure all purchasing actions comply with
FAR, DFARS, CPSR
requirements, and internal procurement policies. Obtain competitive quotes, conduct price analysis, and negotiate terms to achieve best value. Create and manage purchase orders, track delivery status, and resolve any supplier issues. Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit-ready files. Support supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, and communication. Collaborate closely with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Contracts to forecast needs and align procurement activity with project schedules. Work with Contracts to ensure flow-down clauses are incorporated into supplier agreements. Assist in small-business subcontracting compliance and reporting as needed. Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy (items, lead times, purchase order details). Required Qualifications 3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within a government contracting environment. Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and basic CPSR principles. Strong negotiation, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small‑team environment. Proficiency with MS Office and experience with an ERP or MRP system. US citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting manufacturing or engineering-heavy programs. Knowledge of cost/price analysis techniques. Existing DoD clearance (Secret or above). NCMA coursework or certifications (CPSM, CPP, etc.) are a plus. Opportunity to shape and improve procurement processes in a small-company environment.
Pay:
$62,500.00 - $72,500.00 per year
