Job Summary
  • Buyer
  • Description
  • PRIMARY PURPOSE
  • Proactively works as a team member with Procurement, Quality, Engineering and others to maintain required flow of all parts while achieving continuous supply chain improvements in Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • + Develops projected annual requirements for assigned part families.

+ Assists in the development of annual purchase agreements with suppliers.

+ Develops and communicates purchased parts schedules to Lycomings suppliers.

+ Responsible for planning and rescheduling of assigned parts in Oracle system.

+ Places purchase orders with suppliers.

+ Plans, schedules, and expedites assigned purchased parts to ensure timely availability of quality components.

+ Negotiates pricing as required with oversight from the Procurement manager.

+ Liaises with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues.

+ Works with the Accounting department to resolve invoice/payment discrepancies.

+ Responsible for inventory reduction planning.

  • Qualifications
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • + Good manufacturing business acumen, including 6 Sigma methodologies.

+ Solid background in Procurement and related supply chain disciplines.

+ Computer literate.

+ Experience/familiarity with manufacturing business systems, preferably Oracle.

+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field with two years experience or 3 years related work experience in a related manufacturing/assembly environment.

+ Strong leadership skills
