Biomedical Device Consultants & Laboratories (www.bdclabs.com) is a fast-growing company that offers comprehensive medical device testing services, designs verification test equipment, and produces silicone mock vessels to the medical device community in support of domestic and international regulatory submissions and approvals. Our primary focus is cardiovascular technologies such as endovascular stents, prosthetic heart valves, and catheters. As a small company, BDC's environment is fast-paced, dynamic, challenging, and rewarding.
YOUR DAY TO DAY AS A PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
As a Procurement Specialist at BDC Laboratories, you'll be at the forefront of developing strategic partnerships with suppliers to achieve exceptional performance levels. Your expertise will shine as you establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance while implementing best practices that elevate our procurement processes. With strategic thinking and tactical actions, you'll examine bids, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and award purchase orders that align with our dynamic business needs. Collaboration with vendors is key, as you'll manage priorities, monitor job statuses, and track delivery performances, all while adhering to safety guidelines and business ethics. By identifying and qualifying suppliers based on their capabilities and costs, you will place timely purchase orders to ensure production schedules run smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the high-performance culture that defines BDC Laboratories.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
To excel as a Procurement Specialist at BDC Laboratories, you'll need a robust skill set that marries experience with strategic insight. A Bachelor's degree in a related business area is preferred, alongside at least 5 years of purchasing or supply chain planning experience, and 3 years in procurement and vendor management. Your background in strategic sourcing, vendor selection, and negotiation will be crucial in building relationships and managing supplier performance. Familiarity with dynamic electro-mechanical box build manufacturing environments is a plus. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Bachelor's Degree in a related business area is preferred. 5+ years Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Planning and Management experience 3+ years Procurement Vendor Management and/or Strategic Sourcing experience Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, commercial agreements, and supplier performance management. Experience in a dynamic electro-mechanical box build manufacturing environments highly desirable Proficient with
MS Office Suite Tools:
Word Excel, etc. Strong ERP System knowledge ideally Syteline by Infor. Ability to understand and interpret production build demand/forecast to develop procurement strategies and schedules to support growing business requirements. High level of organizational skills for efficient execution of procurement responsibilities. Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and represent BDC professionally to the supply base. Strong overall business acumen and organizational savvy with the ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment.
