Procurement Specialist II Location :
Providence, RI (Hybrid) About Our Client Our client is an innovation-driven professional services firm focused on advancing medical device and healthcare technologies. They partner with organizations to bring cutting-edge products to market through a comprehensive range of services, including product development, clinical research, regulatory support, and commercialization strategy. About the Role Our client is seeking a Procurement Specialist II to support medical device and healthcare programs through end-to-end purchasing and supplier management activities. This role operates with minimal supervision and partners closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management. The ideal candidate is a proactive procurement professional with experience in regulated environments who can manage supplier relationships, negotiate effectively, and ensure timely, compliant sourcing of materials and services. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle procurement activities including purchase order creation, tracking, expediting, and supplier communication Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers and OEM manufacturers Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers based on operational and business needs Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to optimize cost, quality, and delivery Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards Coordinate material availability to support production schedules and customer demand Maintain accurate purchasing records in compliance with FDA, ISO, and internal requirements Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program teams Communicate supplier risks, constraints, and lead time impacts to stakeholders Support cost reduction, continuous improvement, and inventory optimization initiatives Analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance metrics, and spend data to guide sourcing strategies Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2-4 years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in a regulated industry Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation Experience working in FDA and/or ISO-regulated environments with a focus on compliance and documentation Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting technical or engineering-driven procurement activities Familiarity with global supply chains and international sourcing Experience with supplier performance management and cost reduction initiatives Knowledge of inventory management and production planning concepts Background in medical device, healthcare, or life sciences environments Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Providence, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
