Job Summary :

NutriScience Innovations (NSI) is looking for a high-energy and dedicated individual to join our supply chain team! In this role the Purchasing Specialist will work with our Purchasing Manager and team to: (a) place purchase orders for our dietary supplement and nutraceutical ingredients, (b) assist with inventory needs and planning, (c) coordinate and monitor incoming shipments (domestic & international) (d) build and maintain relationships with key supply partners.

Job Responsibilities:

• Input purchase orders using our ERP system based on customer and inventory needs
• Own the ongoing management of assigned purchase orders, including tracking order status, communicating updates, and driving timely resolution of issues that could impact delivery schedules.
• Work closely with our vendors and quality team to ensure material meets our required specifications and all necessary documentation is received prior to arrival Coordinate with transportation carriers and freight brokers to ensure appropriate and timely deliveries of purchase orders Assist the Purchasing Manager with coordinating the import of materials from overseas suppliers, developing a strong understanding of international procurement, logistics, and customs requirements.

Assist with reporting on and tracking import tariffs Report, document, and communicate significant price changes to the Purchasing Manager and sales team to ensure accurate customer pricing Assist in negotiating with vendors to secure competitive pricing, lead time and shipping terms Communicate effectively with vendors, logistics, quality and customer experience to mitigate potential logistical and supply issues The Purchasing Specialist is expected to exemplify the high level of service and partnership NutriScience is recognized for when working with our supply partners, demonstrating a willingness to go the extra step, this is an attribute that NSI takes great pride in. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by other departments or upper management as needed

Job Requirements :

Required Associates/bachelor's degree, military service, or prior experience in this a similar role 1-2+ years' experience in purchasing, inventory planning, sales/customer service, logistics or project management is preferred Highly organized and detail-oriented Strong written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to articulate in a professional manner Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Must be able to manage several projects/tasks concurrently Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team Positive attitude and proactive approach are a must Preferred Supply Chain degree, certificate program or coursework International business experience a plus Knowledge of import/export regulations and processes a plus Why consider a career at NutriScience Innovations (NSI)?
