About the job: A growing organization is seeking a Buyer to support strategic sourcing and procurement activities. This role is responsible for planning, purchasing, and managing materials and services to meet operational and production needs while driving cost efficiency and supplier performance. Responsibilities Plan, procure, and expedite materials to support production schedules and capital projects Manage assigned commodities and supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and quality performance Utilize ERP systems to manage material requirements, planning parameters, and data integrity Create and maintain purchase orders aligned with production demand and system signals Lead supplier negotiations around pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to reduce cost and mitigate risk Identify and onboard new suppliers in partnership with engineering and quality teams Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and value engineering initiatives Monitor supplier performance and implement improvements related to lead times, quality, and delivery Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, planning, and finance teams Proactively identify and escalate supply chain risks, shortages, or capacity constraints Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency Required Skills Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Able to work directly for the employer BS/BA degree in supply chain or something related
