Valiant TMS, a global provider of intelligent automation solutions, is looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement team in the Columbia, South Carolina area. If you're passionate about supplier management, strategic sourcing, and supporting industrial automation projects from proposal through delivery, this opportunity is for you. What you'll get to do Identify and select suppliers for U.S. projects in coordination with our team in Austria Execute RFQs, price comparisons, and support negotiations Create and manage purchase orders and invoices in SAP Identify cost-saving opportunities and support implementation efforts Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality) and handle supplier issues Maintain supplier master data and ensure data accuracy Support supplier audits, visits, and evaluations as needed Assist in ensuring warranties and documentation are obtained for purchased items Provide support to our Proposal and Estimating teams with purchasing-related information Support commercial component purchasing, inventory activities, reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings, and consolidating materials to suppliers for assembly What we are looking for Completed post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Several years of professional experience in technical purchasing, ideally in the field of automation or manufacturing Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience required Proficient in business-level English Knowledge of contract law and order processing is an advantage An independent, structured, and collaborative way of working Willingness to travel (5-10%) Must be legally authorized to work in the USA What we offer Competitive health, dental, vision, employee assistance, and wellness benefits, beginning on the first day of employment Tuition reimbursement 401(k), life, and disability insurance upon completion of the new hire eligibility period We believe in investing in our people.
