Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. This position works closely with the sales, warehouse, service, and accounting teams to ensure products are ordered accurately, received on time, and available to meet customer and company needs. The Purchasing Agent develops strong vendor relationships, negotiates pricing, and identifies opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency. Duties Purchase inventory, stock, and special-order products from approved vendors. Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock to maintain appropriate inventory. Create, submit, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, shipping, and order status. Negotiate pricing, freight, and purchasing terms when appropriate. Verify purchase order accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors. Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure products are received and processed correctly. Work with the sales team to source products and provide estimated delivery timelines. Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and product information. Research new products and suppliers to improve product offerings and reduce costs. Qualifications Previous administrative, purchasing, or office support experience preferred. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound purchasing decisions. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when processing purchase orders, invoices, and inventory records. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with vendors, customers, and internal departments. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
