Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, directing or coordinating the process of buying materials, products and services under the direction of the Materials Manager. Responsible for communicating with production planning, scheduling and inventory control. Assures that materials and outside vendor services are purchased at the optimal price and delivery schedule while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage outside vendors, and ensure that approved vendors are used Monitor purchase orders and outside processors to ensure materials arrive on time Interface with suppliers when serious variations arise in delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale Work with outside vendors to ensure best possible pricing, and seek ways to reduce cost Generate, issue, and enter cycle counts
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have an understanding of Purchasing principles and practices Must have an understanding of Inventory Control Management Basic understanding of manufacturing processes Able to analyze data to make decisions relative to purchasing Must have computer skills including MS Office, and experience with MRP systems Knowledge of AS400 is a plus Must have working command of the English language and be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions) Ability to adhere to safety policies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Required 1 -3 years Purchasing or Inventory Control Management Experience Associates Degree in Purchasing/Business or related field a plus APIC's Certification a plus RBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
