40.0 Company Overview An established and growing concrete solutions organization is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join its operations team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting cost-effective purchasing strategies. Responsibilities Sourcing and vetting prospective suppliers that meet company quality and technical standards. Request quotes, draft proposals, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions. Execute purchase orders (POs) and manage the procurement lifecycle through ERP system. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, work closely with field personnel and operation teams. Build strong supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and resolve discrepancies regarding pricing, defects, and/or delayed shipments. Identify cost savings opportunities and analyze purchasing trends to optimize future purchases. Analysis on purchasing trends, cost data, and pricing impacts. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a similar field preferred. 3-5 years' experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain logistics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical thinking and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Ability to anticipate supply needs and interact professionally with vendors. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. In-depth knowledge of purchasing principles and practices.
