Job Description

Description:
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for supporting procurement operations within a blown film plastics manufacturing environment. This role ensures timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, MRO supplies, and services required to maintain continuous plant operations. The position works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and suppliers to ensure inventory availability, cost control, and compliance with company purchasing policies.
Requirements:
Duties include but are not limited to: Procure MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies for blown film manufacturing operations Create, process, and track purchase orders in ERP system Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules while avoiding excess stock Coordinate with production planning and warehouse teams to forecast material requirements Source new suppliers and obtain competitive quotes to ensure best value, quality, and delivery terms Monitor supplier performance related to pricing, quality, and on-time delivery Expedite orders and resolve delivery delays, shortages, or discrepancies Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Assist with annual budgeting and cost tracking for procurement categories Coordinate logistics as needed for inbound shipments
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (required) Experience in plastics, blown film, or similar manufacturing industry preferred Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement processes, and inventory control Experience working with ERP/MRP systems Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word
