Job Description

Position Summary The Buyer position is a crucial role within our Supply Chain group. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to balance short-term priorities, and exceptional information analysis capabilities. Key objectives include implementing purchasing procedures and operations to meet quality standards and volume requirements for purchased products and components, all while staying within budgeted costs. Additionally, the Buyer will achieve targeted customer service levels and manage inventory levels. Responsibilities Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods from domestic and international suppliers and subcontractors in accordance with MRP/ Demand requirements Build and maintain strong working relationships and communication with vendors to ensure high-quality, on-time deliveries Monitor and actively manage open purchase orders to optimize inventory levels in a fast-paced business environment Participate in and contribute to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process Coordinate with Quality to review and improve supplier performance for quality and delivery on regular cadence Support Strategic Sourcing Team in RFQs and cost saving initiatives Proactively report product availability issues to key stakeholders including sales, customer service, and operations Revise essential system planning data to ensure our SAP effectively plans future requirements Complete special projects and assignments as requested Required Qualifications and Skills Education & Experience A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline is preferred Must have at least 2 years of purchasing and inventory planning experience, including supplier communication, purchase order management, and material planning. Competencies Demonstrated expertise in SAP is preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Exceptional communication skills Superior organizational and time management abilities Meticulous attention to detail Working Conditions This position will be based in a Distribution Center in Dallas, TX. Physical Demands Job requires both sitting and standing. Excellent vision, hearing, speech and motor skills are required to perform essential functions of the job.
