Data Center Construction Location:
Turkey, Texas Pay:
$30.00-$35.00 per hour
Per Diem:
$175 per day
Schedule:
Approximately 58 hours per week

1 Year with extension potential Position Highlights $30.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience $175 per day in per diem Approximately 58 hours per week - will receive overtime Major data center construction project Hands-on responsibility for procurement, purchasing, and material coordination The Opportunity We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support procurement and material operations for a large-scale data center construction project in Turkey, Texas . In this role, you will help ensure project teams have the materials and equipment needed to maintain construction schedules. You will manage purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, track deliveries, monitor inventory, resolve discrepancies, and identify potential material shortages before they affect field operations. The ideal candidate has experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, material planning, or vendor coordination within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or another fast-paced project environment. Previous data center or mission-critical construction experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Develop and maintain material forecasts by category, part, and vendor. Determine purchasing requirements based on inventory levels, project needs, cost, and supplier lead times. Create, update, and maintain accurate purchase orders. Track shipments, material availability, and expected delivery dates. Coordinate material requirements with project management, field operations, and other project stakeholders. Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or purchasing risks. Research and resolve purchase order, invoice, pricing, and receiving discrepancies. Work directly with vendors to address cost, quality, lead time, packaging, shortages, damaged materials, and shipping issues. Track vendor credits related to shortages, damaged materials, and incorrect shipments. Build and maintain productive, long-term supplier relationships. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, discounts, packaging, and shipping methods when appropriate. Maintain accurate supplier, vendor, and item records. Communicate purchasing updates, delivery concerns, and material risks to project teams. Collaborate with internal departments to keep critical materials moving and support data center construction schedules. Qualifications Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, material coordination, inventory management, supply chain, or a related role. Construction, industrial, manufacturing, data center, or mission-critical project experience is preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience creating and maintaining purchase orders. Ability to manage multiple vendors, orders, deliveries, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities. Ability to identify material or supplier issues before they affect construction schedules. Basic mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills. Ability to learn new purchasing, inventory, and business systems. Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Location and Schedule This is an on-site position in Turkey, Texas , supporting an active data center construction project. Candidates should be prepared to work approximately 58 hours per week . Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship. Employment eligibility will be verified at the time of hire.
