Purchasing Specialist Wallis, TX 77485 From $40,000 a year - Full-time From $40,000 a year - Full-time The Buyer is responsible for supporting the Purchasing Manager in handling routine purchasing activities, including processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records. This role works closely with suppliers, production, and warehouse teams to ensure the timely procurement of materials and supplies in line with company requirements. Responsibilities and Authority Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions. Verify order details, pricing, and delivery schedules before submission. Maintain accurate and organized records of all purchase orders. Communicate with suppliers to confirm order receipt, delivery timelines, and resolve routine issues. Follow up on late or incomplete deliveries and escalate concerns to the Purchasing Manager. Support supplier data entry and maintain updated vendor contact records. Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely supply of materials. Track deliveries and confirm receipt of goods against purchase orders. Report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager. Assist with maintaining procurement logs, records, and filing systems. Provide basic data entry and reporting support for purchasing metrics. Prepare routine reports on order status and delivery timelines for review. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures. Support internal audits by providing accurate purchasing records. Follow up on corrective actions related to purchasing or supplier performance. Employees may be assigned additional duties or responsibilities as needed to support organizational goals and business needs. Experience Required 3+ years' experience in procurement. High School Diploma. Experience with ERP software Proficient with Microsoft suite. Experience with Bookkeeping / Accounting is beneficial. Technical Knowledge Proven work experience in a procurement position Familiar with sourcing and vendor management. Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
