Alta, Utah Compensation:
Starting wage is $21/hour . Additional compensation details will be discussed during the interview.
Schedule:
Full-time (4 days/week, 10-hour shifts)
Location:
Alta, Utah (In Person) Seasonal Position with the opportunity to transition into a year-round leadership role based on performance and business needs. About the Role The Hardgoods Buyer is a hybrid leadership position responsible for overseeing the hardgoods department while working alongside the Head Buyer to execute seasonal purchasing strategies. This role combines retail leadership, inventory management, merchandising, vendor relations, purchasing, sales analysis, technical product knowledge, and team leadership . Approximately half of your week will be spent leading daily retail operations, supporting employees, and helping customers with skis, bindings, demo equipment, and technical product recommendations. The remainder of your time will focus on inventory planning, purchase orders, vendor communication, demo fleet management, rental operations, sales reporting, and department administration. We're looking for someone who naturally takes initiative, enjoys solving problems, and is confident making independent decisions. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of alpine ski equipment, strong bootfitting experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards for customer service, safety, and shop operations.
