Seasonal Position:
Opportunity to transition into a year-round leadership role based on performance and business needs. About the Role The Softgoods Buyer is a hybrid leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the softgoods department while working alongside the Head Buyer to plan and execute seasonal purchasing strategies. This role combines retail leadership, inventory planning, merchandising, sales analysis, vendor communication, and buying responsibilities to ensure our stores remain well-stocked, organized, and ready to serve skiers throughout the season. Approximately half of your week will be spent leading the retail floor, supporting employees, and delivering exceptional customer service. The remaining time will focus on purchasing, sales reporting, inventory forecasting, merchandising, vendor relations, and department administration. We're looking for someone who naturally takes initiative, enjoys making independent decisions, is highly organized, and can confidently manage multiple projects while helping lead a team. About Powder House Since 1953, Powder House Ski Shop has been helping skiers enjoy the mountains with carefully selected equipment, apparel, and exceptional customer service. As Utah's original ski shop, we've built a reputation for knowledgeable staff, quality products, and a team-first culture. As our company continues to grow alongside Boot Solutions, we're looking for leaders who enjoy improving processes, taking ownership, and helping shape the future of our business. What You'll Do Lead daily operations of the softgoods department and help supervise the retail team. Analyze sales reports and inventory performance to support seasonal purchasing decisions. Assist with developing product assortments and preparing purchase orders. Communicate directly with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and product availability. Monitor inventory levels and proactively recommend replenishment orders based on sales trends. Receive, allocate, and organize inventory across multiple Powder House locations. Create visually appealing merchandise displays while maintaining an organized sales floor. Train and support employees on product knowledge, merchandising, and customer service. Help maintain accurate inventory, backstock, and merchandising standards throughout the season. Coordinate employee parking permits and transportation logistics with Alta.
