Job Description

We continue to build on this foundation, growing our team with the same core values that made us who we are. KP is looking for a Procurement Specialist on our production team. The Procurement Specialist manages the full procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and supplies, optimal inventory levels, and vendor performance that meets company standards for cost, quality, and delivery. This role works closely with internal teams and suppliers to support production efficiency, cost control, and customer commitments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement Management Purchase and oversee all paper, supplies, and packaging for assigned division(s). Monitor and manage orders to ensure on-time delivery and fulfillment. Maintain accurate procurement-related data in the company MRP system, including due dates, part numbers, prices, and purchase order statuses. Maintain optimal inventory levels in alignment with operational needs. Order & Delivery Coordination Resolve delivery exceptions to protect customer commitments and production schedules. Manage open purchase order lines through to completion. Vendor Relations & Performance Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors. Evaluate vendor performance using the company's vendor scorecard process. Cross-Functional Support Provide Production, Client Services, and Sales teams with vendor-related technical information and support. Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives. Requirements Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge): High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 2 - 4 years of related work experience in purchasing, supply chain or materials management. 2+ years working with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar MRP systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Understanding of print, mail, or fulfillment operations preferred.
Skills and abilities:
Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness. Strong verbal, written, and listening skills; able to follow SOPs and detailed instructions. Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills. Comfortable working extensively in MRP systems and able to demonstrate a full understanding of procurement workflows. Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Open to adopting new technologies and processes. Proactive problem-solver with clear communication of issues and solutions.
