Job Description

Job Summary:
This position serves as the primary point of contact regarding freight and cargo transactions and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating shipment activities, processing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and supporting cargo operations to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient movement of goods. The Customer Service Agent fosters positive customer relationships through professional communication, accurate information, and responsive service while consistently meeting operational deadlines and performance standards.

Non-Exempt Essential Functions:
Promptly respond to customer and Everts Air personnel inquiries (phone or written) regarding company services, policies, procedures, transit information, and rates in a clear and professional manner. Provide accurate shipping information using company systems (TakeFlite and other databases), manuals, and records while ensuring all manual service updates are organized and maintained for accuracy. Communicate backhaul freight availability and payments due to customers, and document customer communications, pickups, proof of delivery (POD), tracking details, and payment information in TakeFlite. Coordinate rates with the Accounting department as needed. Prepare, execute, and audit air bills accurately, ensuring proper freight descriptions and tariff application. Match air bills from outstations and research discrepancies as needed for customers and Accounting. Record and follow through on customer pickup requests, forwarding them to the Operations department according to the location requirements. Inform customers of service schedules, flight times, cutoffs, shipping requirements, and required documentation. Process, prepare, maintain, and audit operational documents and reports, including cash register and daily sales reports, DOT trucking reports, mail reconciliations, cargo and flight paperwork, and customer preprints. Maintain accurate records and documentation by keeping a clean and organized work area, sorting/distributing company materials (COMAT), updating customer service manual directories, and ensuring adequate supplies of COMAT, expense reports, and flight envelopes are maintained. Support customer satisfaction and business growth by communicating customer concerns, identifying sales opportunities, and forwarding leads and charter requests to the Sales department. Assist Cargo, Operations, and other departments as needed, including warehouse support, freight handling, charter/flag stop coordination, and small package processing. Maintain compliance with all training requirements and support the training of new hires and staff, including providing freight and cargo transaction training to other departments. Qualificiations:
Valid Driver's License is required. Must be able to pass an Airport Background Criminal History Check. Must be able to work effectively in a drug-free workplace and comply with company drug and alcohol policies. Proficient in computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is preferred. Able to collaborate with team as well as work independently without supervision is required. Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain positive customer relationships, communicate effectively by phone and in person, and professionally resolve difficult customer situations.
