Job Description

Position Summary:
The individual for this position will be joining a rapidly growing, publicly held company. The position will be based out of the company's largest operating region and provides great opportunity for growth within the organization. This position falls under the general direction of the Transportation Manager. Will support all aspects of the regional transportation network to include routing, delivery window efficiency, territory planning, assignment of drivers and vehicles, usage of equipment and customer service. What you'll do: Provides administrative and clerical support for an organization's transportation, freight pricing, and logistics operations. Collects data and reports on shipping rates, transportation costs, and traffic patterns to develop insights on freight movement and transportation expenses. Maintains and updates a database of transportation rates and routes. Documents routing, shipping, and logging information to track and monitor inbound and outbound orders. Contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Typically reports to a supervisor.
About you:
High School degree or GED Required; College degree preferred 2-4 years of routing experience preferred. Basic understanding of Roadnet Transportation Suite preferred. Basic understanding of transportation safety guidelines, and DOT procedures related to routing Strong communication and team building skills Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suites Able to impact positive change
