Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Cargo Van Driver to join our dynamic delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a cargo van to deliver goods efficiently and on time, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout each interaction. Your focus will be on adhering to traffic regulations, managing manual handling tasks, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills and commitment to safety will drive success. Duties Safely operate a cargo van or box truck to complete scheduled deliveries and pickups across designated routes Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques, including the use of material handling equipment like pallet jacks when necessary Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and ensure proper documentation for each shipment Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws during all driving activities Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers via mobile devices to confirm delivery details or resolve issues Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns Assist with warehouse operations by moving inventory, organizing stock, and supporting manual handling processes Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse or commercial driving background Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory for cargo van operation Experience operating box trucks or vehicles with manual transmissions is highly desirable Strong knowledge of traffic regulations, safety procedures, and DOT compliance standards Ability to lift heavy loads safely using proper lifting practices; experience with manual handling equipment like pallet jacks is preferred Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with route driving, warehouse operations, and material handling equipment operation is advantageous Join our team as a Cargo Van Driver and become an essential part of delivering quality service with energy and professionalism.
