The Shipping/Receiving Clerk (HAZMAT) Freight performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods of the installation in which employed and receiving incoming shipments. This position may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers or agents engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received. Shipping/Receiving Clerks work under direct supervision of a Lead/Supervisor.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES
Verify DD form 1149 / 1348s are accurately completed prior to ordering and arrival of commercial trucks. Verifies that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents. Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles. Prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading. Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records. Checks for damaged goods; ensuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the installation. Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office and outside work as required by mission. Nights, Weekend, Overtime and travel may be required by mission requirements. Exposure to weather conditions such as rain, wind, extreme heat and cold.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs unassisted. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, such as face mask covering mouth and nose, steel or compost toe safety shoes, to include hand and head wear. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time, up to 8 hrs.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must process a current HAZMAT Certification or obtain within six months of acceptance of position. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver's License with no restrictions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport. Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
EXPERIENCE
Two years working in Freight Transportation preferred Familiarity with Defense Transportation Regulation covering Cargo movement. Ability to work independently with little direction or supervision. Effective organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
