Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and experienced LTL Delivery Lead to oversee daily shipping operations and support an efficient, safe, and customer-focused freight environment. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, guiding team members, resolving operational issues, and helping ensure freight moves accurately and on time. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, working knowledge of LTL processes, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day LTL shipping and dock operations to support on-time pickups, departures, and deliveries. Assign work, monitor workflow, and provide guidance to team members to maintain productivity and accuracy. Coordinate with carriers, customer service, warehouse staff, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues and service exceptions. Verify shipment paperwork, bills of lading, labels, counts, and documentation for accuracy and compliance. Track freight status, communicate delays or changes, and escalate issues when needed. Support the use of transportation or warehouse management systems to enter, update, and monitor shipment data. Promote and enforce safety procedures, equipment standards, and housekeeping expectations across the dock or warehouse area. Train and coach team members on standard operating procedures, quality expectations, and safe work practices. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of experience in transportation, warehousing, logistics, or freight operations. Prior LTL, shipping, dock, or freight coordination experience strongly preferred. Previous team lead, supervisory, or training experience preferred. Working knowledge of shipping documents, carrier coordination, and freight handling procedures. Ability to communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with transportation management systems or warehouse systems is a plus. Forklift certification or the ability to become certified may be required based on site needs. Physical Requirements and Work Environment This role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift, as well as working around warehouse equipment and moving freight. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced operational environment and able to follow all safety requirements.
