In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks over long distances to deliver household goods and freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise will ensure that goods are transported securely across regions, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate a variety of trucks including box, and other freight carriers over long distances. Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload household goods and freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Securely load cargo onto trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to load limits. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, mileage, and vehicle inspections in compliance with federal and state regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in truck driving, especially with long-distance routes involving household goods and freight delivery. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards. Ability to load & unload household good and freight efficiently while following proper procedures for different cargo types. Skilled in route planning and navigation to optimize delivery times across diverse regions. Experience with forklift operation is a plus for handling certain loads securely.
