About the
Role:
The Operations Staff role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of freight transportation activities within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position focuses on managing freight tracking processes and facilitating freight brokerage operations to optimize delivery timelines and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with carriers, clients, and internal teams to monitor shipments, resolve logistical challenges, and maintain accurate documentation. By proactively managing freight movements and brokerage negotiations, the Operations Staff contributes directly to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Ultimately, this role supports the company's mission to deliver reliable and timely transportation solutions across the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience in freight tracking and freight brokerage within the transportation or logistics industry. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and freight management processes. Proficiency with freight tracking software and transportation management systems (TMS). Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with multiple modes of transportation including truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and intermodal freight. Familiarity with industry-standard freight brokerage platforms and negotiation techniques. Ability to analyze freight data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and track freight shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Coordinate with carriers, brokers, and clients to arrange transportation and resolve any issues that arise during transit. Manage freight brokerage activities including negotiating rates, securing capacity, and maintaining relationships with third-party providers. Maintain detailed records of shipment statuses, freight costs, and related documentation to support operational transparency and reporting. Collaborate with internal teams such as customer service, warehouse, and logistics to streamline operations and improve service delivery.

The required skills of freight tracking and freight brokerage are integral to daily operations, enabling the candidate to monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays or issues. Freight tracking skills allow the Operations Staff to use technology platforms to provide real-time updates and maintain accurate shipment records, ensuring transparency for clients and internal stakeholders. Freight brokerage skills are applied to negotiate competitive rates and secure reliable carriers, balancing cost efficiency with service quality. Preferred skills such as multi-modal transportation knowledge and data analysis enhance the ability to optimize routing and reduce expenses. Strong communication and organizational skills support effective collaboration with carriers, clients, and team members, ensuring smooth operational workflows. M-F 8am-5pm
