Job Description
Working with the Morongo Tribal Council, implements and drives the primary economic goals, plans, projects, and short and long-range financial and business objectives for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. Coordinates activities to safeguard and grow the assets of the organization for future generations while providing sound return to current Tribal Members. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is ultimately responsible for developing investment strategies and leading investment activities, building and leading a dynamic team, and managing the investment portfolio to achieve stated outcomes and organizational commitments while supporting capital goals. In accordance with the Morongo Tribal Council, makes major corporate decisions and drives the workforce and resources toward strategic business goals. Sources, manages, and monitors investments.
Limits overall investment risk.
Selects investments that create a desirable balance between risk and return.
Presents and secures buy-in from Tribal Council and General Membership in the development of the Tribe's long range and annual business plans.
Confers with Tribal Council and executive officials to plan business objectives with cutting-edge knowledge and the ability to coherently present new ideas and profitable projects.
Negotiates bids to grow Morongo Enterprises. Produces feasibility studies or business plans for new Enterprise developments.
Oversees existing Enterprises and works with their General Managers to ensure current businesses thrive.
With Tribal Council, decide how to invest the tribal resources (capital, personnel, and time) to achieve business objectives.
Communicate with General Membership to keep them informed on investment projects. Provide strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, investments and / or other financial issues affecting the business. Directs and coordinates formulation of financial programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.
Establish credibility throughout the organization and with Tribal Council as an effective problem solver. Evaluate current projects and investments to ensure optimal success and audit when necessary. Work closely with the Construction Director to ensure construction projects are successful and completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Carry out all other duties and responsibilities, inclusive of Tribal Administration, Enterprises, Casino, Hotel and not limited to, but as directed by Tribal Council.
