Fort Collins, Colorado Foothills Gateway, Inc. (FGI) is seeking a visionary, mission-driven leader to serve as our next Chief Executive Officer. This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly respected human services organization dedicated to supporting adults and children with disabilities and their families across Larimer County. As CEO, you will steward both mission and mandate—championing person-centered services while ensuring uncompromising compliance within Colorado's complex health and human services regulatory environment. You will guide FGI's strategic direction, foster innovation, and ensure operational excellence in a system where quality, accountability, and compassion must coexist. About the Role Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of the organization. You will oversee all programs, operations, and partnerships while ensuring alignment with FGI's mission, vision, values, and regulatory obligations.
FGI operates as:
A Case Management Agency (CMA) under Colorado Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF).
The designated Community Centered Board (CCB) for Larimer County.
The Early Intervention Broker (EIB) for the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC). This role requires deep expertise in compliance, risk management, and regulatory systems. What You'll Do Mission & Strategic Leadership Advance FGI's mission by delivering high-quality, person-centered services.
Lead long-range strategic planning aligned with community needs and system changes.
Foster a culture rooted in dignity, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Compliance & Accountability (Core Focus) Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing CMA, CCB, and Early Intervention programs.
Maintain readiness for audits, program reviews, and monitoring activities.
Oversee accurate and timely reporting, data integrity, and regulatory submissions.
Strengthen internal controls and compliance systems to mitigate risk. Operational & Program Excellence Oversee multi-program operations ensuring quality, consistency, and regulatory adherence.
Drive data-informed decision making to improve outcomes and performance.
Ensure effective use of systems for assessments, service plans, authorizations, and incident reporting. Financial Stewardship Lead responsible financial management including budgeting, contracts, and long-term planning.
Ensure alignment of resources with mission priorities and compliance obligations.
Oversee grants, funding streams, and fiscal accountability. People & Culture Build and lead a high-performing executive team.
Promote a culture of accountability, ethics, and professional growth.
Ensure staff are trained and supported in mission delivery and compliance responsibilities. External Leadership & Advocacy Serve as FGI's primary representative with state agencies (HCPF, CDHS, CDPHE) and community partners.
Advocate for policies and funding that support individuals and families served.
Build strong partnerships across government, service providers, and the community. Who You Are
You are a strategic, ethical, and system-oriented leader who thrives at the intersection of mission and regulation. You understand that compliance is not just a requirement—it is a foundation for trust, quality, and equity in service delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8+ years of senior executive leadership in human services, healthcare, behavioral health, or a related nonprofit environment.
Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-funded programs and budgets.
Deep experience working with a Board of Directors and nonprofit governance structures.
Strong knowledge of regulatory systems and compliance practices. Preferred Master's degree in public administration, nonprofit management, business, or related field.
Experience with Colorado's CMA/CCB systems and applicable regulations. Core Leadership Strengths Compliance & risk management excellence

- 1 full-time position available at $175,000
- 200,000/yr. DOE/DOQ.
- Approximate accrual of 15 days per year paid time off to start, paid holidays, paid sick leave, and a full range of Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability and EAP, in addition, we offer 401K and Colorado Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI).
