Job Description
SMARCA, Inc. is looking for its next leader. The CEO is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Association, including supervision and development of employees. General duties include overseeing labor relations activities, effective representation of contractor interests, communications, education and social events. The CEO is the conduit for communication of information and resources available from SMARCA and through affiliated national associations. The CEO serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors and takes direction from the Board. The CEO shall establish the strategic direction of the Association and execute that strategy, subject to Board approval.
Major Duties:
- Establish labor relations policy and lead negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
- Anticipate changes in our industry and lead the development of effective solutions.
- Deliver effective communication of industry issues to contractors through multiple channels.
- Represent contractors in disputes with unions.
- Employer representative on multiple jointly trusteed ERISA Funds.
- Attend National Association meetings.
- Manage employee relations and continually develop staff.
- Constant effort to foster positive relationships with union partners.
- Establish positive relationships with contractor members and contributors.
Accountabilities:
- Contractor satisfaction with representation in collective bargaining.

- Administration of financial affairs of the Association.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 Year College Degree.
- Legal or Labor Relations Work Experience.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight away from home.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Law or MAIR Degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business management and organization leadership.
- Experience working with organized building trades.
- Awareness of legal responsibilities and constraints of private, nonprofit organizations.
Compensation:
- $160,000/year or higher depending on qualifications and experience.
