Job Description

Purpose:
Serve as the chief executive officer of the organization, giving directions to the formulation, and leadership to the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission and strategy, and its strategic plan. The Executive Director is eligible to receive benefits that include health insurance, retirement plan, paid vacation, paid holidays, and personal leave.
Accountability:
The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors.
Essential Tasks:
With the Chairman of the Board, enable the board to fulfill its governance function, and facilitate the optimum interaction and understanding between the Hope Ranch of Missouri staff and the Board. Make certain that the vision, mission statement, and goals are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization. Provide oversight into the regular updating of the organization's long-range plan which directs and achieves the mission and makes consistent and timely progress. Ensure the flow of funds to permit the organization to make steady progress toward the achievement of its mission; and ensure that those funds are allocated properly to reflect present needs and future potential. Prepare the annual budget. Prepare schedules for and coordinate efforts with the audit firm. Provide appropriate reports to the Board of Directors. Oversee all programs of development, marketing, and public relations. Sign legal documents on behalf of the organization. Select, appoint, and dismiss staff members, as directed by written policy and job description. Provide and maintain an effective management team, with provision for succession. Ensure the development and implementation of personnel training and develop plans and programs that will provide the human resources necessary for the achievement of the organization's mission. Maintain a climate that attracts, keeps and motivates top quality people — both professional and volunteer. Recommend policies to the Board for their oversight and governance responsibilities; and administer all approved policies. Serve as the chief spokesperson for the organization. Interpret the organization's services to the community and ensure that positive relationships are established and maintained with those the organization serves, other community agencies, and the community at large. Assist in the choosing and orientation of all new Board members (both voting members and advisory) and new administrative staff. Coordinate activities of advisory boards by delegation of responsibility to appropriate personnel. Oversight and implementation of the Hazard Communication Program and Policy. Any other duties as appropriate to facilitate organization's goals and staff or board role performances.
Requirements:
Must be at least 25 years of age. Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited school and two (2) years' experience in residential treatment for children and youth services and meet all requirements outlined for the position in Missouri state regulations, 13 CSR 35-71.050 (2). Skills needed include budget planning and preparation, supervision, public speaking, writing, training, planning, and computer literacy. Must show evidence of skills and understanding in business management, public relations, resource development, organizational planning, and staff development. Must be able to be persuasive and a motivator, to confront in a constructive way — at the same time strengthening trust, loyalty and teamwork. Must be capable of decisiveness, exercising sound judgment and common sense, and must be a team management person. The personal and professional department should exemplify high ethical standards and appreciation to the worth of the individual. You must hold a valid driver's license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record, be able to drive day or night, and be capable of driving a van. Must be willing to undergo an initial and periodic police/law enforcement agency record check and must be able to pass the background screening process required and conducted by the Missouri Department of Social Services and maintain a positive screening.

$88,000.00 per year
