Description TOTA is seeking an experienced, mission-aligned Executive Director to serve as the organization's chief staff officer. This individual will manage all association operations, lead administrative staff, and serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, TOTA members, and external stakeholders. The ED provides organizational continuity and drives the implementation of TOTA's strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity for an association management professional, or an OT leader with administrative experience, to serve at the highest staff level of a well-established, respected professional organization. Requirements Key Responsibilities Leadership & Governance Serve as chief staff officer; implement Board-approved strategies and directives Prepare and present quarterly reports to the Board of Directors Attend all Board, Executive Committee, and Annual Membership meetings Maintain proactive communication with all Board members and committee chairs Produce TOTA's Annual Report for Members Operations & Communications Oversee all day-to-day business operations, including staff supervision and performance evaluation Manage the Association Management System (MemberClicks) and Member Directory Produce and distribute the bi-weekly TOTA Tidbit member newsletter Manage TOTA's social media presence and digital communications strategy Oversee the Revista publication in collaboration with the editor and graphic designers Financial Oversight Develop and manage the annual operating budget in coordination with the Treasurer Process accounts receivable/payable and manage banking/investment accounts Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; coordinate with bookkeeper and CPA File Form 990, franchise tax forms, SOC reports, and ensure regulatory compliance Events & Continuing Education Plan and execute the Annual Conference (venue, vendors, speakers, registration, logistics) Coordinate the bi-annual School-Based Practice Conference Support TOTA-sponsored CE events and manage the online Learning Management System (LMS) Advocacy & External Relations Represent TOTA to AOTA, TBOTE, AOTF, TOTF, OTBE, and
TOTA-PAC
Work with TOTA's lobbyist and Legislative Committee on advocacy priorities Represent TOTA to educational institutions, regulatory bodies, and industry partners Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college or university Minimum of five (5) years of experience in management or executive capacity Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; public relations experience Proven supervisory ability and track record of administrative and fiscal integrity Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate data to support organizational decisions Knowledge of the Texas state legislative process and relevant regulatory bodies Self-directed, independent, and sound in professional judgment Ability to motivate and manage both paid staff and volunteers Preferred Qualifications OT or OTA credential, or substantive knowledge of the occupational therapy profession Experience with a nonprofit professional association or membership-based organization Familiarity with association management platforms (e.g., MemberClicks) and QuickBooks Online About This Role in the OT Community Candidates with a background in occupational therapy, whether as clinicians, educators, or administrators, are especially encouraged to apply.
