This role provides oversight across Permitting, Purchasing, Scheduling, Construction, Customer Service, Warranty, and Project Management to ensure operational consistency, cross-department alignment, and efficient project execution. Working closely with executive leadership, the Senior Operations Manager drives process improvement, develops performance standards and accountability measures, and implements scalable operational systems that support production goals, improve profitability, support a consistent homeowner experience, and strengthen overall organizational performance. Essential Functions
- Lead and oversee daily construction operations across multiple projects and communities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals and growth objectives.
- Establish, monitor, and improve departmental KPIs.
- Oversee project execution from pre-construction through completion.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Review budgets, cost reports, and operational performance metrics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational staff and department leaders.
- Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships and performance.
- Implement quality assurance standards and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead process improvement and technology implementation initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Working knowledge of AI-enabled tools and technology used to improve operational efficiency, reporting, workflow automation, document management, and cross-department communication.
- Ability to identify practical opportunities to use AI, automation, and software systems to streamline processes, improve visibility, reduce manual work, and support better decision-making across operations. Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced knowledge of construction operations and project lifecycle management.
- Strong financial acumen, budgeting, and forecasting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct, BuildTopia, or similar platforms. Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction operations.
- 5+ years managing multiple teams and operational functions.
- Experience overseeing budgets, purchasing, scheduling, and field operations.
- Experience leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
