Transform. Grow. We are seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-performing automotive dealership organization. This executive will partner directly with ownership to drive profitability, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth across all dealership operations. The ideal candidate is a proven automotive executive with a track record of building high-performing teams, improving financial performance, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight of all dealership operations, including Sales, Fixed Operations, Finance & Insurance, Parts, Service, and Accounting/administrative functions.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to maximize profitability, market share, and customer retention.
- Analyze financial statements, departmental performance, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
- Lead, coach, and develop General Managers and department leaders while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Establish performance benchmarks and implement processes that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Drive inventory management, expense control, and operational excellence across all departments.
- Partner with ownership on acquisitions, dealership integration, facility planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEM partners, lenders, vendors, and community stakeholders. Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience in automotive retail.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple departments or multiple dealership locations.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in dealership financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
- Proven ability to improve profitability while enhancing customer and employee satisfaction.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, Tekion, or similar).
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent executive automotive leadership experience will be considered. Preferred Experience
- Luxury automotive franchise experience (Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lexus, Jaguar Land Rover, or similar)
- Multi-rooftop or dealer group leadership
- Acquisition and dealership integration experience
- Fixed operations optimization
