Job Description

Position Summary Grid Structures is seeking a President to lead and scale a rapidly growing utility infrastructure manufacturing business focused on transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, and related infrastructure markets. The President will have full responsibility for the leadership, growth, profitability, and operational performance of the business. This executive will oversee all aspects of the organization, including sales, engineering, project management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and administration. This role is designed for an experienced operating executive who has successfully managed manufacturing operations, built leadership teams, improved profitability, and scaled businesses through periods of significant growth. The President will work closely with the CEO and COO to execute the company's strategic vision while assuming primary responsibility for day-to-day business operations. Key Responsibilities Business Leadership
  • Lead the overall performance and profitability of Southland Grid Structures (SGS).
  • Maintain full accountability for revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow, and operational results.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, execution, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Operations & Manufacturing
  • Lead all manufacturing operations with responsibility for safety, productivity, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Ensure manufacturing capacity, labor resources, and operational systems support business growth.
  • Drive improvements in throughput, efficiency, automation, and utilization.
  • Establish scalable processes capable of supporting future facility expansion and multi-location operations. Commercial & Customer Leadership
  • Partner with the commercial team to support customer development, strategic account growth, and market expansion.
  • Strengthen relationships with utilities, EPC contractors, municipalities, cooperatives, and infrastructure owners.
  • Support backlog development and profitable revenue growth.
  • Participate in key customer meetings, strategic pursuits, and industry relationships. Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing management team.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability, and performance expectations throughout the organization.
  • Develop future leaders and succession plans.
  • Foster a culture aligned with the company's values and growth objectives. Financial Management
  • Manage the business with a strong focus on profitability, working capital, cash flow, and return on invested capital.
  • Partner with finance leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
  • Drive disciplined decision-making related to capital expenditures, staffing, and growth initiatives. Strategic Growth
  • Evaluate opportunities for facility expansion, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and new market development.
  • Build systems and organizational capabilities capable of supporting future multi-location operations.
  • Support the long-term growth of Grid Structures into a leading utility infrastructure manufacturing platform. Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing, construction products, utility infrastructure, steel fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or closely related industries.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility for a significant operating business.
  • Proven experience leading manufacturing operations with direct accountability for production, labor, quality, scheduling, and profitability.
  • Experience building and leading management teams.
  • Track record of driving operational improvements and business growth.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of manufacturing economics. Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility structures, transmission, distribution, substation, pole manufacturing, steel fabrication, or infrastructure-related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading multiple facilities or geographically dispersed operations.
  • Experience integrating acquisitions or leading significant business expansion initiatives. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be:
