Job Description

RHC Director Poplar Bluff, MO 63902 From $55,000 a year - Full-time From $55,000 a year - Full-time Summary The RHC Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and daily operations of the practice. This role ensures clinical, financial, and administrative functions are optimized to provide excellent patient care, maintain compliance, and achieve organizational goals. The Practice Director acts as a liaison between providers, staff, and leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth. Must have experience with cost reporting for RHC as well as compliance and audit expertise specific to RHC. Must be willing to travel.
Non-negotiables:
Extensive RHC operations experience: A minimum of five years specifically in Rural Health Clinic (RHC) operations is required. Experience in FQHC, urgent care, or multi-specialty group operations does not meet this requirement. The RHC reimbursement model and compliance framework are unique, and we are unable to provide training in these areas.
Cost report expertise:
Direct experience preparing or thoroughly reviewing and submitting at least three complete Medicare Cost Reports for an RHC is essential. Must be able to confidently discuss worksheets S, A, B, and C without notes, and demonstrate knowledge of the productivity adjustment, AIR cap, and bad debt reimbursement regulations.
Survey experience:
Must have acted as the responsible party during at least one state agency or accrediting body survey. Should be able to clearly outline the corrective action plan process for a real citation received during a survey.
Regulatory knowledge:
Must possess a working understanding of 42 CFR 491 and the State Operations Manual Appendix G. This knowledge will be assessed during the interview.
Multi-site management:
Proven ability to oversee operations at three or more clinic locations simultaneously. Must be comfortable with travel.
EHR proficiency:
Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is preferred. Experience with Athena, Epic, or NextGen is acceptable if the candidate can demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly.
Strong nice-to-haves:
Experience with
CMS PECOS
enrollment. Success in implementing CCM, RPM, and BHI programs. Familiarity with HRSA grant administration. Background in Lean or Six Sigma for workflow standardization. A bachelor's degree is required, while an MHA or MBA is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has strong operational experience.
