Multi-State Healthcare Operator (40+ Facilities) A Rare Opportunity to Build a National Platform Our client is a highly respected multi-state healthcare operator with a proven track record of operational excellence across more than 40 facilities throughout the United States. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, the organization is launching a dedicated Behavioural Mental Health & Drug Rehabilitation Division , focused on delivering exceptional, evidence-based treatment and recovery services to individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders. The division launches with four established facilities across the Midwest and East Coast and is supported by a well-capitalized growth plan that includes strategic acquisitions, service-line expansion, and geographic development. This is a unique executive leadership opportunity to build, shape, and scale a national behavioral health platform from the ground up while making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, families, and communities. The Opportunity The Chief Operating Officer will serve as the senior operational executive for the newly established Behavioural Mental Health & Drug Rehabilitation Division. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the COO will be responsible for creating and leading the operational infrastructure required to support rapid growth while maintaining exceptional standards of clinical quality, patient outcomes, compliance, and financial performance. This role requires a visionary yet hands-on leader who has successfully managed multi-site behavioral health, addiction treatment, rehabilitation, or related healthcare operations and is excited by the challenge of building a high-growth platform. As the division expands, the COO will play a central role in acquisition integration, operational strategy, leadership development, and organizational scalability. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Executive Leadership Provide executive oversight for all operational functions across the Behavioural Mental Health & Drug Rehabilitation Division. Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to define and execute long-term growth strategies. Develop scalable operating models that support rapid expansion while maintaining quality and consistency. Operational Excellence Build and optimize infrastructure across clinical operations, workforce management, compliance, quality assurance, and financial performance. Establish best-in-class operational processes, systems, and performance standards across all facilities. Drive operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and superior treatment outcomes. Growth & Acquisition Integration Lead the successful onboarding and integration of newly acquired facilities and service lines. Support the organization's aggressive expansion strategy through operational due diligence and post-acquisition integration. Ensure consistency of culture, performance, and care delivery across an expanding national footprint. Regulatory & Clinical Compliance Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements. Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews. Promote a culture of quality, safety, ethics, and accountability. Leadership & Talent Development Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing regional and facility-level leadership teams. Create a leadership culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Build organizational capabilities to support long-term growth and succession planning. Financial Performance Oversee budgets, P&L performance, operational KPIs, and resource allocation. Implement data-driven reporting structures and performance metrics. Drive sustainable financial performance while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be an accomplished healthcare operator with substantial leadership experience within behavioural health, addiction treatment, rehabilitation services, or substance use disorder treatment. Required Experience Executive leadership experience within behavioral health, mental health services, addiction treatment, rehabilitation, or substance use disorder care. Experience serving as a Vice President, Senior Vice President, COO, or equivalent senior operational leader. Proven success managing multi-site healthcare operations across multiple facilities and regions. Strong understanding of clinical, operational, regulatory, and compliance frameworks within behavioral health and addiction treatment. Demonstrated ability to lead large teams through periods of growth and transformation. Strong financial acumen, including budget management and P&L responsibility. Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. Preferred Experience Experience scaling high-growth healthcare organizations. Acquisition integration and post-merger operational leadership experience. Background overseeing both behavioral health and addiction recovery services. Why Join?
