President / Executive Director

The Opportunity Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Community Action Commission (KHCA) seeks a strategic, mission-driven executive to serve as its next President / Executive Director. The Organization KHCA is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families across the region through a diverse portfolio of programs. With established partnerships, stable funding streams, and a committed Board of Directors, KHCA plays a vital role in addressing critical community needs and advancing economic stability for those it serves. The Role Reporting to and working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, the President / Executive Director serves as the chief executive of the organization, responsible for overall leadership, strategy, and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership and direction across all programs and operations
• Ensuring strong financial stewardship, including oversight of budgets, grants, and compliance requirements
• Building, developing, and leading a high-performing leadership team and organizational culture
• Partnering with the Board to support effective governance and long-term planning
• Serving as the primary external representative of KHCA with funders, government entities, and community partners
• Identifying and advancing funding and partnership opportunities to sustain and grow impact
• Ensuring programs are aligned with mission, responsive to community needs, and delivered with measurable effectiveness Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be a collaborative, credible, and results-oriented leader with the ability to navigate complexity while maintaining a clear focus on mission and impact.

Qualifications and experience include:

• Demonstrated executive leadership experience within a nonprofit, public, or similarly complex organization
• Strong operational and financial management expertise, including experience with grant-funded environments
• Proven ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors
• Experience leading teams, building organizational capacity, and fostering a positive culture
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization externally
• A commitment to equity and serving diverse and underserved populations
