Friendsview is seeking an accomplished and thoughtful Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive leadership team and serve as a strategic partner to our Chief Executive Officer. Friendsview is a Christ-centered, nonprofit Life Plan Community committed to creating an environment where residents and employees can thrive in community. Our mission and values shape not only the services we provide, but how we lead, make decisions, steward our resources, and care for one another. The COO will provide executive leadership for Friendsview's day-to-day operations, with direct oversight of Dining Services and Information Technology, as well as additional operational areas assigned by the CEO based on organizational needs. This position will also serve as Friendsview's Risk Manager, providing organizational leadership in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational risk. This is an opportunity for an experienced executive who enjoys turning strategy into action, developing strong leaders, improving systems, and creating accountability while remaining deeply connected to the people and mission behind the work. What You'll Do As COO, you will work closely with the CEO and, as appropriate, the CFO to ensure Friendsview's operational and financial priorities are aligned with our long-term strategy.
You will:
Provide executive oversight of assigned operational departments, including Dining Services and Information Technology. Translate organizational strategy into measurable operational goals and results. Develop, coach, and hold department leaders accountable while supporting leadership development and succession planning. Establish and monitor key performance indicators and use data to identify opportunities for improvement. Lead operational and organizational change with an emphasis on communication, collaboration, and sustainability. Identify opportunities to improve processes, service quality, productivity, technology, and organizational effectiveness. Provide executive oversight of technology operations, cybersecurity, information systems, infrastructure, and technology-related risk. Serve as Acting Risk Manager, leading organizational risk identification, assessment, mitigation, incident and claims review, and trend monitoring. Provide oversight of significant vendor and contractual relationships within assigned areas. Partner with the CEO and CFO on budgets, financial performance, operational planning, and responsible stewardship of organizational resources. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, excellence, professional growth, and exceptional service to residents. What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced leader who can move comfortably between big-picture strategy and operational detail . The successful candidate will be collaborative without avoiding accountability, financially astute, comfortable leading change, and able to build trusted relationships throughout a complex organization.
Candidates should have:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or MHA is preferred. At least 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience , including substantial senior or executive-level responsibility for complex, multi-department operations. Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit organizations, or another complex service environment preferred. Strong financial and operational acumen. Demonstrated success developing leaders and building high-performing teams. Experience using data and performance measures to improve organizational results. The ability to provide executive-level oversight of technology, cybersecurity, risk management, vendors, and complex operational systems.
