Job Description
Position Summary:
The General Manager will lead the overall strategy, growth, profitability, and operational execution of the USA transportation brokerage division. This role is responsible for scaling a high-performance brokerage operation focused on ground transportation services.Key Responsibilities:
Own full P&L performance, including gross margin, EBITDA contribution, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. Develop and execute strategic plans to scale brokerage operations and increase market share. Lead operations, carrier sales, customer sales, pricing, and customer service teams. Establish and monitor KPIs including gross margin per load, on-time service, tender acceptance, carrier utilization, customer retention, and operational productivity. Build a strong carrier procurement strategy to ensure capacity stability during volatile market conditions. Drive customer acquisition and account growth initiatives alongside sales leadership. Develop SOPs, operational controls, escalation protocols, and service standards. Implement technology-driven processes leveraging TMS, visibility tools, AI, automation, and analytics. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting processes. Develop leadership bench strength and succession planning across departments.Requirements:
10+ years of transportation brokerage or 3PL leadership experience. Proven experience scaling brokerage operations exceeding $25M+ annual freight spend preferred. Strong understanding of ground transportation service and spot market operations. Demonstrated success managing both sales and operations teams. Strong financial and analytical acumen. Experience implementing TMS and operational technologies. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and executive communication skills.Pay:
