Job Description

Job Overview The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) is seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Regional Experience Manager to support the development and success of ASPAN's regional leadership structure and member engagement initiatives. This role serves as a key liaison between ASPAN's national office and its regional leadership, ensuring strong governance, operational effectiveness, and a consistent member experience nationwide. The Regional Experience Manager will play a critical role in launching and supporting newly incorporated regional entities, guiding volunteer leaders through nonprofit best practices, governance structures, and financial stewardship. The ideal candidate brings association management experience, a strong understanding of nonprofit governance and financial oversight, and the ability to collaborate with volunteer leaders to build sustainable, high-performing regions. The Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential is preferred. Key Responsibilities Regional Development & Governance Support the startup and transition of newly incorporated ASPAN regions, including governance, operational structure, and leadership onboarding. Provide guidance to regional leaders on nonprofit governance, bylaws, policies, and fiduciary responsibilities. Serve as the primary liaison between ASPAN national staff and regional leadership teams. Assist regions with establishing sustainable operational practices, including budgeting, financial oversight, and compliance with nonprofit standards. Maintain accurate regional leadership rosters and governance documentation. Leadership Support & Engagement Provide training, resources, and ongoing support to regional volunteer leaders. Develop tools and best practices that help regional leaders succeed in their roles. Facilitate communication between ASPAN national leadership and regional organizations. Provide support during regional leadership meetings, virtual events, and national leadership programs. Help cultivate strong volunteer pipelines and leadership continuity within regions. Member Experience Partner with regional leaders to ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience across all regions. Identify opportunities to improve engagement, communication, and participation at the regional level. Support the development of regional programming and initiatives that align with ASPAN's mission and strategic priorities. Serve as a resource for members and leaders navigating regional participation and opportunities. Data, Reporting & Operations Maintain and monitor regional data including leadership directories, engagement metrics, and operational records. Generate reports to support leadership decision-making and strategic planning. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure regional tools, platforms, and communications operate effectively. Support compliance and documentation requirements for separately incorporated regions. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred. 5-8+ years of experience in association management, nonprofit leadership, or member-based organizations. Experience working with volunteer leadership structures and regional or chapter-based organizations strongly preferred. Knowledge & Skills Association & Nonprofit Expertise Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, board leadership, and fiduciary responsibilities. Experience supporting separately incorporated chapters, regions, or affiliates. Familiarity with nonprofit financial structures including budgeting, reporting, and financial oversight. Leadership & Relationship Management Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with volunteer leaders and staff. Ability to advise and guide leaders in complex governance or operational situations. Strong facilitation and training capabilities. Communication & Strategic Thinking Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex governance or operational concepts into clear guidance for volunteers. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance organizational goals and regional needs. Operations & Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with association management systems (AMS) or CRM platforms. Familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms and online community tools. Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential preferred.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
