We work closely with luxury home builders, architects, interior designers, and homeowners to integrate audio/video, lighting control, networking, security, surveillance, electrical systems, shading, automation, and connected-living solutions into some of the region's most sophisticated homes. We are entering a major growth phase and are seeking an experienced, technically fluent Chief Operating Officer to help scale the company, strengthen operational systems, lead teams, and ensure every project is executed with precision. The Opportunity Tech Guide is seeking a high-level Chief Operating Officer to help lead the company through its next major stage of growth. This is a hands-on executive leadership role for someone who understands operations, construction, technology, field teams, client service, financial accountability, and scalable systems. The right candidate will help turn vision into execution, strengthen internal processes, lead department heads, and ensure every project meets Tech Guide's standard of excellence. This is not a passive corporate role. We need a builder, organizer, leader, and operator who can help scale a fast-growing luxury technology company. Reporting Structure The COO reports directly to the CEO / Founder and provides operational leadership across sales, engineering, project management, electrical, low-voltage installation, service, purchasing, administration, and office operations. Key Responsibilities Lead daily company operations across all departments. Build scalable systems for scheduling, project handoff, job costing, procurement, change orders, field documentation, billing coordination, service workflows, and quality control. Create clear accountability across sales, engineering, project management, field installation, electrical, service, and office administration. Work with the CEO to establish company goals, budgets, KPIs, staffing plans, and leadership rhythms. Improve project profitability through better estimating, labor planning, procurement, documentation, and closeout procedures. Oversee project delivery standards from sales handoff through completion, commissioning, client training, and long-term support. Lead, coach, and hold team members accountable. Improve communication between office staff, field teams, project managers, clients, builders, architects, designers, and vendors. Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and company culture. Help guide Tech Guide through a high-growth stage while protecting the company's reputation for quality, service, and technical excellence. Required Qualifications 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, construction, technology integration, electrical contracting, AV/low-voltage, security, IT, building automation, or a related field. Experience managing people, projects, budgets, vendors, schedules, and client expectations. Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial construction. High-level technology fluency, including computer skills, software adoption, troubleshooting, and systems thinking. Strong financial literacy, including job costing, labor efficiency, margins, budgets, forecasting, and operational reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work on-site in Lexington, SC and visit active job sites within a 90-mile radius of Columbia. Preferred Qualifications Experience with custom electronics, Control4, Lutron, AV systems, enterprise networking, lighting control, security, surveillance, shading, electrical systems, generators, or related technologies. Experience with D-Tools Cloud, QuickBooks, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, construction software, or project management platforms. Experience scaling a company through a growth stage. Electrical, construction, design-build, or luxury residential experience. We offer competitive compensation, 401(k), PTO, growth opportunity, leadership influence, and a culture built around excellence, innovation, and craftsmanship.
