June Primary Purpose:
The Deputy Chief Innovation sets the vision for a culture fiscal responsibility across campuses and
departments. This position is required to do the following:
- An educational auditor who provides recommendations in all aspects educational practices
including, but not limited to instruction, personnel, operations, and finance.
- Direct the processes for internal and external reporting, ensuring academic compliance, assists
with regulation funding, and managing reporting processes.
- Has expertise in education, instruction, personnel practices, policies, regulations, and reporting
procedures to ensure the school system remains in full compliance and efficiently meets all
reporting obligations.
- Understands that innovation does not always infer "more" but is the ability to translate creative
ideas from the past and present into concepts when practically applied, solve problems and
improve efficiency in an environment filled with new educational expectations.
- Provide strategic coaching in all areas the educational system.
- Oversee and evaluate current and future initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
Master's degree
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public administration, business management, or a
related discipline
Doctorate degree preferred
Experience:
Minimum years experience in public accountability, Texas Student Data System, program
evaluation, and data science.
Has been responsible for large budgets in the public education system.
Minimum years experience at the district senior leadership level as director or above
preferred.
Ability to implement policy and procedures.
Minimum years experience as a school principal.
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to interpret department strategies and services, resolve conflicts, influence outcomes on

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
. Conduct regular audits district expenditures to ensure funds are being used appropriately,
efficiently, and in alignment with budgetary intent. Identify irregularities, redundancies, or areas of
overspending and recommend corrective action.

. Systematically evaluate programs and initiatives to assess cost-effectiveness and return on
investment. Make data-driven recommendations to consolidate, restructure, or eliminate
programs that are underperforming or duplicative.
. Lead efforts to identify opportunities to reduce costs and reallocate resources without
compromising service quality. Champion a "do more with less" culture by proposing creative,
innovative, fiscally responsible alternatives.
. Develop and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure expenditures comply
with district expectations and strategic plan framework. Oversee required financial reporting to
internal and external stakeholders.
. Oversee the collection and analysis financial and program data to inform budgetary
recommendations and strategic planning. Ensure accuracy and integrity all financial data used
in reporting and decision-making.
. Provide guidance and training to staff on expenditure procedures, budget compliance, and
efficient resource use.
. Prepare and present findings, audits, and efficiency recommendations to executive council, the
superintendent, and the board. Serve as a trusted advisor on matters financial sustainability
and program effectiveness and resource utilization.
. Supervises and sets the vision for resource oversight and efficiency.

Compliance Oversight:
Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures to ensure
compliance with all standards, regulations, and policies set forth by federal, state, and local
education authorities.

Reporting Management:
Oversee the timely and accurate completion all reporting
requirements, internal reporting, and evaluation reports.

Assessment Management:
Review state and local assessment data, and implementation the
district's resource strategy.

Policy Analysis and Implementation:
Stay updated with federal, state, and local education
policies, legislation, and regulations. Analyze and interpret policy changes and work
collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary adjustments.

Data Collection and Analysis:
Oversee the collection, management, and analysis data related
to compliance and reporting. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security, and use data to inform
decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Staff Training and Development:
Provide training and professional development opportunities to
staff members regarding procedures, requirements, and regulations. Foster a culture of
compliance and accountability within the organization.

Internal Audits and Reviews:
Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with academic
standards, reporting obligations, and grant requirements. Identify areas for improvement and
develop action plans to address deficiencies.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
Work closely with various departments and teams,
including finance, human resources, curriculum, and instructional leaders, to ensure compliance
and reporting considerations are integrated into all relevant processes and initiatives.
