This is a high-level position responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's mortgage loan portfolio and is expected and incentivized to operate like a business owner. Strong leadership skills and industry expertise, paired with effective delegation and auditing of files from origination through closing, will allow the SVP to focus primarily on building relationships and growing our business. This role will oversee the origination, servicing, risk management, and compliance of mortgage loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the strategic vision for the loan operations department, ensuring the appropriate operational processes and controls are in place and align with the company's strategic plan and business objectives. Oversee day-to-day operations of the loan operations team (documentation, servicing, and post-closing) ensuring goals and objectives are achieved. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology adoption to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Lead and develop a team of loan operations managers and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring performance management of the entire team. Assist in annual budget planning and successful budget performance for the department. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies in loan operations. Proactively address potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to stay ahead in the market. Streamline loan processing workflows, reducing turnaround times, and improving accuracy. Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures to enhance productivity and resource utilization. Oversee relationships with external service providers, such as loan servicing companies and technology vendors, ensuring their performance meets expectations and complies with contractual agreements. Collaborate with IT teams to assess, implement, and enhance loan processing systems and technology platforms. Develop and maintain operational metrics for loan operations. Analyze data and generate regular reports to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Focus on improving the overall customer experience by ensuring smooth loan processes, timely communication, and excellent service. Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Extensive experience in mortgage lending, including leadership roles. Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, compliance, and risk management. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to develop and implement mortgage loan strategies. Financial acumen and budget management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills.Pay:
