To assist the Superintendent with district construction and renovation projects such that they can be completed in a cost effective manner and in compliance with all laws and regulations and that they provide safe, comfortable, and attractive learning environment for the students.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED. 2. Bachelor's degree with emphasis in architecture, engineering, or related field, or work experience sufficient to substitute for formal education. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of principals, practices, equipment procedures, and materials pertinent to the construction, maintenance, repair and alteration of buildings and related facilities and equipment. 4. Willingness and ability to supervise a diverse work force. 5. Willingness to travel to remote locations. 6. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment. 7. Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.
Duties:
1. Review design drawings and specification for conformance with district programs, building design standards and codes, accepted construction methods, budgetary limitations and cycle cost parameters. 2. Prepares and administers cooperative contractual agreements with design, engineering, and construction forms and with State and Federal agencies. 3. Inspects and evaluates the work of contractors and maintenance personnel on district construction projects for conformance with approved plans and specification. 4. Prepares and submits yearly CIP applications to the Department of Education/Early Development. 5. Maintains and submits current CIP audit reports to the Department of Education/Early Development. 6. Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary for the proper execution of the construction program.
