Advantest Test Solutions works closely with customers to understand the specific semiconductor IC test workflow requirements, then leverages industry leading building blocks to ensure that each solution is fine-tuned to those requirements. ATS has an exciting line of massively parallel System Level Test (SLT) systems that support the semiconductor and electronics industry around the world. This is a unique opportunity, ideal for a candidate with a diverse skill set to work within several disciplines. To have a high impact on ATS's success, the candidate must be capable of setting and adjusting priorities rapidly, allocating project resources appropriately, and be tactical in creating strategies. We are looking for an energetic, intelligent and dynamic individual with high integrity to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Architect and design complex test systems for testing leading edge semiconductor devices o Communicate complex problems and synthesize requirements to the engineering teams o Work with cross-functional engineering teams on development and validation of all associated sub-assemblies o Identify project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project. o Develop and distribute a description, timeline of the project, cost estimates and performance standards. o Clearly identify risks and mitigation plans and communicate internally across the organization and externally to customers. o Oversee and coordinate all technical aspects of the project through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication. o Serves as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions, and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements. o Work with cross functional teams including thermal, mechanical, software and electrical engineers to develop production and reliability tests to ensure safe and satisfactory product performance. o Develop production release procedures and plans for the test system with clearly defined success criteria o Analyze test and reliability data for quick problem resolution and drive corrective actions. o Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (SEMI S2/S8, F47, CE, etc.) Support technical proposal preparation and new business development efforts in co-ordination with the business team and cross functional team. o Review customer requirements and work with engineering teams to develop project plan and objectives. o Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected customer requirements. Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort with focus on DFM and DFT to minimize production costs Lead the development or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation. Train, coach and mentor other team members. Perform technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Education & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred) Self-Driven individual with excellent communication skills Preferred 10+ years of experience in the design / test / validation of semiconductor devices / modules and / or equipment used to test semiconductor devices / modules. Experience leading semiconductor products through NPI (New Product Introduction) and HVM (High Volume Manufacturing), Device thermal characterization, Burn-in Prior experience in developing semiconductor production testers (ATEs) or characterization testers or system level testers is a plus. Knowledge of instrumentation devices and expertise in using / integrating instrumentation equipment into larger test systems. Experience with robotic / mechanical systems/ handlers that are used to test semiconductor devices / modules in an automated fashion is a plus. Experienced with different methods of statistical analysis. Experience working directly with customers and vendors. Ability to understand complex electro-mechanical assemblies, High speed board design / signal integrity analysis. Work under minimal/consultative direction This position is an on-site role, based in our Lake Forest, CA office.
